Hello,
Just to let you know I looked into this today.
The fire service were out at the site from the 10th August when it started until 14th August. It was then left in control of the owner.
The fire service say they have not been back to the site since then.
I also spoke to Graham Goodale – who runs Inter County Tree Service. He said the fire is still burning but getting smaller and he is not adding to it. The fire service said it would take weeks to go out and usually in these situations a fire is left to burn out in a controlled way. He said he is keeping it away from the wood that is brought back every day.
I am writing a piece for tomorrow’s Echo but thought I would post this on here as this is where I noticed it.
Hope this helps answer the question!
