Mexico City vs Rayleigh
Lib Dems are still working to get potholes fixed.
In particular our colleague Chris Lumley has been pressing to get The Approach repaired. Last week he emailed the council to say:
The state of the road outside the entrance to the station in The Approach is now a disgrace. The road seems to be breaking away and I have complained about this many times. Visitors to the district when leaving the station must this they have arrived at a third world country.
Well, this may be slightly unfair on Third World Countries. Here’s a couple of pictures that Chris Black took yesterday of The Approach and Grange Gardens, together with an image of the backstreets of Mexico City, as found on GoogleStreet:

This is awfull! Has anyone reported the severely sunken drain by the keep left bollard junction of London Hill & London Rd? You have to drive over the chevrons to avoid it, which is almost impossible at this very busy junction!

They may have similar potholes but I think that is all:

Thankfully yes, that’s all….

The quality of the repairs being made to roads here in Rochford is poor. Within a week of being filled, the pothole outside the chip shop in Golden Cross Parade has become nothing but a set of loose chippings and some of the fill-ins in the roads surrounding the Ann Boleyn are already sinking.

I note the drain pothole on Downhall Road appears to have had some sort of repair – it is not level and breaking up already despite men working on it for
two days!! I have to swerve to avoid it causing more damage to my car. Have just had to fork out £180 for two new tyres!!

Perhaps not the right place for this post but does any reader know what is causing the dreadful traffic along Rawreth lane am and pm. Last night queued the whole length of the road.

Half an hour to Carpenters last night.Seems watery lane is the cause .Shows how reliant we are on unsuitable road system .What will it be like with future development ? Still it has been nice and quiet in the village!
