So What Kind Of Tuesday Did YOU Have?
A VERY difficult day today , dreadful traffic , flooding worries, plus a power cut in parts of Rayleigh in the morning, plus at least two power cuts in Rayleigh in the evening….
There’s not really any energy left tonight to write anything…

Usual trouble spots watery lane is still flooded (wednesday am ).Beeches road entrance was a new one as the water poured off adjacent fields .,this threatened two houses which with provision of parish council sand bags and willing helpers was alleviated .Church road some egress in two houses but with the early alert of neighbours pumps were started early .Water in that area the worst they have seen the water did not get away quick enough through the lock gates at battlesbridge .Cars think they can ignore flood road signs consequently lots of floating cars in watery lane again .

You are going to love this one !It is 2.3o pm .At 1pm we took the flood notices down as the road was nearly cleared and was passable .Just gone out of the gate to resume my ditch clearing of someone else ditch ,when who should appear but ECC “emergency response vehicle” under instructions to close the road !I did suggest to them perhaps monday night would have been better !They confirmed with their control that they had to close the road even though it was clear !Sorry Rawreth Lane in for another great congested evening ! We have now been closing watery lane for several incidents over the last few years on unofficial behalf of ECC and have monitored the water levels so it could be reopened asap.

Yup, nearly 5.00pm & Rawreth Lane now queuing back to the A1245, who is the council half wit that authorised Watery Lane to close?
