An Answer On Dropped Kerbs
Last week Chris Black was asked if the law against parking across dropped kerbs was being enforced.
The answer is yes, Tory councillor Keith Hudson has helpfully advised us that across the South Essex parking area, 87 people have received penalties since April 2011.
So be warned !

In addition to parking across drop kerbs, I wish that the parking authorities would issue penalties to inconsiderate drivers/home owners who park on pavements causing pedestrians to walk in the road. A case in point is regular pavement parking outside No. 174 Rawreth Lane. This is a busy highway and walking in the road past cars parked on the pavement is extremely dangerous for any pedestrian but worse for parents with buggies or elderly people. It is not just one vehicle parking here but often two or more. The Rawreth Parish council tried to solve this problem a few months ago but without success. Could Cllr. Hudson be made aware of this problem please.
