Rayleigh is still the lowest in the District. But it is surprising to see that Hockley is double this and double that of Hawkwell. What if anything do the people of Hockley receive that Rayleigh and Hawkwell residents do not? A lot of time and effort goes into the preparation of the Rayleigh budget and grants are sort where ever possible to keep costs down. Pleased to be a part of this success.

What is the total precept raised in Rayleigh? How does it compare with Hockley and Hawkwell?

But the more people who contribute the more who need services. The bigger the area covered the more work that needs to be done. If economies of scale apply then smaller parishes should amalgamate.

Several people have now been kind enough to explain the situation. So apologies to the Hockley Council who have very good reasons for the higher level. Main point is still the very good value for money the rayleigh residents receive.
