Street sign

By the green grassy area there was a no ball games street sign, it was broken years ago and I have tried every avenue trying to get it replace including Rockford district council, local parish council, local conservative and labour representatives with no avail , it might not be important to some but you don’t live here, it does help stop football balls being kicked into our property here in Keswick ave.

Unless there is a byelaw preventing the playing of ball games on this patch of land, what is the point of errecting such a sign? If the real concern is about balls being kicked into other properties, why not apply for a grant to install a sports cage?

Yes, get a grant, say from the Sports Council, to install a kick / rebound wall. When it get vandalised and covered in graffiti reclassify it as an art facility. Saves cleaning it.

Why not grow a hedge or put up a fence?

RR – Notice I didn’t mention a kick wall, for that very reason – they are also much noisier!

Why should they have the expense and inconvenience of erecting a fence or growing a hedge to stop other people’s kids spoiling the enjoyment of their homes ?

Why don’t these kids play in their own gardens ? Probably because its easier to get rid of them so they annoy other people.
