It would be nice to think that this port will make Essex famous worldwide – but the Chinese report calls the location “East London”.

By coincidence , I met a German ship’s captain today who happened to see the cranes being loaded in China. Looking “like dinosaurs” he said. It’s quite a slow and tricky operation to get them loaded and unloaded , it involves rollers, I think. Especially tricky when you have strong tides, as on the Thames.
