Great shame. I liked Charles Kennedy, he was witty, intelligent, and above all had beliefs and principles that he stood by. Something too few career politicians seem to have these days. He will be sadly missed.
He got it right on Iraq and he showed great courage when he publicly admitted he had struggled with an alcohol problem. So many in his position would have tried to cover it up . Sadly like depression it is a very common condition affecting people and families in every walk of life. Perhaps his life fell apart after losing his Parliamentary seat after such a long time. Really sad. RIP.

It’s very saddening, I felt quite upset yesterday, felt like singing “American Pie” by Don Mclean:
