We are appealing for witnesses to a fight which took place in the High Street in ??Rayleigh? shortly before 2.20am on Saturday June 13.

Officers who went to the scene found two men with injuries and it would appear that at least one person had been thrown through a shop window. Both men were taken to hospital. One of them has since been discharged while the other is still there as he is receiving further treatment. They are both due to be interviewed by officers in relation to what happened.

DC Chris Adam, of Southend CID, said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage and we are still seeking witnesses to what happened.

“In particular I am very keen to speak to anyone who witnessed how the fight started and then developed.

“If you were in Rayleigh High Street in the early hours of Saturday and saw what happened then please call me at Southend Police Station on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.?
