If you fancy a Victorian / Edwardian / Retro / Steampunk wedding, you might get some inspiration from visiting Rayleigh Windmill in the next few days. As the District Council website explains:

Why not come along to the Rayleigh Windmill this month to see a very unique exhibition featuring a stunning display of an upcycled Edwardian themed wedding collection by local creative artist, Deborah Jeffreys.

The exhibition features pieces from the artists own wedding, including outfits worn by the Bride, Bridesmaids the Groom and the Best man, as well as a wedding cake and favours. This atmospheric collection draws on Dickens? novel Great Expectations, with the centrepiece of the exhibition being a Miss Haversham inspired wedding gown.

Creator, Deborah Jefferys said: ?My wedding day was one of the most special days of my life, I really wanted to upcycle everything whilst keeping to the Edwardian theme. Everything you see here I have made myself, with some help from family and friends and all the materials and been collected from charity shops or kindly donated to me.

I am very proud of this exhibition and look forward to showing the pieces to visitors over the next few weeks?.

The exhibition is running until Wednesday 22 July and is well worth a visit. You can find the opening times here
