There’s another planning application on London Road, just over the parish boundary into Rawreth:

The location is “Land Adjacent Grange Villa , London Road, Rayleigh, Essex, SS6 9DR” The application is to provide “Residential Development Of 21 Flats And 26 Houses ( 47 Dwellings In Total)”.
It is a full application – not an outline. It is additional to the Countryside Scheme and the Timber Grove application.
You can find it on the District Council website here and then typing in the reference 15/00736/FUL

We are still of course studying this. Ron Oatham has asked for a site visit for councillors.

  • No surprise – RDC have sent a clear message – “help yourself” to Rayleigh , but that is a very wet piece of land ( immediately North is a pond , surrounded by trees ) , RTSSC will be built on eventually too……….

  • It really is open season for the developers in west Rayleigh. I don’t think anyone will be able to shut the flood gates now RDC has done such a good job of flinging them open for all the developers.

  • Was your use of ‘flood gates’ deliberate ? – given the current news why would
any development policy build anywhere near the ( we are being told “unpredictable” ) flood risk zone margins ……….answer easy profits.

  • Yes Jim, one did in fact work for the institute of hydrology in a previous life, in a research post, so one does know a little bit about water. Let’s hope it comes back to bite those rubber stamping these developments. The only pity is the poor unsuspecting house buyers will be the victims when they see their possessions floating down stream!
