No Response!

We know that many people find it difficult to respond to all the different consultations that the District Council carries out.

They aren’t always simple to respond to.

But now the council has achieved a new ‘record’ . It carried out an official consultation – on air quality around Rawreth Industrial Esate – and not had one proper response.

To quote the council report:

A public consultation exercise was undertaken between 17 February 2010
and 6 April 2010 in order to seek views about the creation of an AQMA. This
related to the target level for particulate matter, also known as PM10 being
exceeded in the area shaded red on the map attached at Appendix 1. The
consultation included a presentation to West Area Committee on 4 March
2010.
.
Although some general enquiries were answered, no specific consultation
responses were received.

What’s more alarming is that a lot of businesses on Rawreth Industrial Estate feel completely in the dark about the propoals to relocate it.

  • I believe that the subject of poor RDC communications was raised at the Hullbridge meeting on Monday, with criticisms about the perceived lack of information on the Core Strategy etc.

Similar complaints were made at the Hockley meeting (about 300 people)on Tuesday with many people stating that they do not receive Rochford District Matters.

Is this a deliberate policy? If not, I hope RDC will take note and institigate a throught review.

  • After many years of trying I still do not recieve Rochford Matters .I thought the council paid a private company to distribute it ,if so we are all getting poor value for money as all taxpayers are paying for this.I am lucky in that I get all the information I need from Parish circulation and the web but most people seem in ignorance of any matters of importance .
