Wards To Watch: Trinity

The last time Lib Dem Chris Stanley stood in Trinity Ward, he came second with 25.4 % of the vote.

This time round, 25.4 % might just be enough to win.

We have the odd situation here of the sitting Tory councillor, Keith Gibbs, switching parties to UKIP. So we actually have 5 candidates standing:

Chris Stanley – Lib Dem
Keith Gibbs – UKIP
Dave Sperring – Conservative
John Hayter – English Democrats
Stephen Hinde – Labour

Labour are at a disadvantage here – their candidate lives in Hawkwell. But any of the other 4 must have a decent chance of winning. Chris Stanley has been very active for us, roaming around the ward and reporting local problems to the council and to Railtrack. If he wins, he’d be a very hard-working councillor.
