There’s a stirring tribute in the Echo to veteran Hullbridge Parish Councillor Janet Stracey, who died last month :

FAMILY and friends have paid tribute to a tireless teacher and councillor who was campaigning until the day of her death.
.
Community stalwart Janet Stracey, who was a member of Hullbridge Parish Council since 1984 and its former chairman, was diagnosed with lung cancer in February and died on December 21.
.
On the morning of his mother?s death, her son Colin, 54, found two envelopes at her home, addressed to Ken Clarke, Justice Secretary, and Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford.
.
He said: ?They were stamped and ready to go, which showed she was active until the end…..

Rest in Peace.
